Tobacco Dependence Treatment & Behavioral Health

The purpose of this web-based course is to provide mental health and substance use disorder professionals the knowledge necessary to assess and treat tobacco dependence in tobacco users with co-occurring psychiatric and/or addictive disorders. 

This interactive, web-based course is approximately 3 hours in length, and is broken down into separate modules.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Describe population-based trends of tobacco use among smokers with co-occurring mental health and/or substance use disorders.

  • Discuss the factors in mental health and addiction treatment settings that have served to maintain tobacco use in populations with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

  • Identify and implement evidence-based treatment for treating tobacco dependence.
